Which of the reasons for needing a process of interpretation is the most compelling or helpful for understanding the Bible?

The process of interpretation is useful for adding clarity of meaning given the space of time and history between the original incident, the written documentation, and our reading of the text. So much has happened within human history. When we're able to understand the time, language, and cultures of the time we're able to avoid misapplying the lessons from the Bible.

Have you ever seen anything like the Fourfold Approach to interpreting Scripture? Is anything in that approach new to you?

Yes, I am familiar with this approach. It is truly helpful.

Which aspect of context do you see most ignored when it comes to modern interpretation of the Bible?

I can see how all of these are ignored or misused in different moments. One that I struggle with is the Contextual Description. The information of the time/place/people/culture can be beneficial in our understanding. Recently, I've heard so many people attributing motives and rationales to different situations in the Bible that we simply don't have the scriptural support to back their statements. I appreciated the list within that section of the video to help me triangulate when I am studying to make sure that I am seeking out information that will help me to have a more complete understanding. I appreciate that we can shift our use of the Bible from niceties to foundational understanding of God's story.
